With over 2 decades as a frontline critical care nurse, Maggie Ortiz is a dedicated advocate for nurses. Her journey has spanned from Level I ICU's, ER's, Cath Lab and procedural areas to serving as an Investigator with a Board of Nursing. Seeing nurses' challenges and complexities, Maggie founded Advocates for Nurses to offer education, advocacy, and support.

Academic Journey: Started with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and eventually completed a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) through a bridge program.

Critical Care Nurse: Over two decades of experience in critical care nursing, where she honed her skills in patient care and crisis management.

Board of Nursing Investigator: Gained invaluable insights into the investigative process, understanding the nuances of nursing standards and the Nurse Practice Act. Trained nationally by C.L.E.A.R (Council on Licensure, Enforcement & Regulation).

Legal Nursing Consultant: Crossed over into legal nursing, assisting nurses and their legal teams with case reviews, preparing reports, and offering expertise in nursing practice standards.

Maggie’s mission is to ensure nurses receive education, guidance, and advocacy as it pertains to due process. She offers personalized consultations, educational courses, and expert legal nurse/legal nurse consulting.
